CASE STUDY OF A MUSLIM WOMAN AFFECTED BY TSUNAMI – VIOLENCE AT THE FAMILY LEVEL A Muslim family of Alangudi Taluk, Pudukottai district went to Nagoor for worship. The father, mother, with two sons and two daughters along with their 2 grand daughters went to Nagoor. During their visit in Nagoor, the Tsunami tidal waves came and taken away the entire family leaving the father, elder daughter and elder son. The daughter Jesima sat on a big wall along with her children. But she could not hold the children against the forces of the waves. Hence the waves taken away her two children in front of her. The wall where she was sitting was also fallen on her legs. Hence Jesima’s both legs got affected and she can walk anymore. Her brother Mohamed Ali Jinna and her father are alive in this family. The other two members were also had some minor injuries. Now Jesima is under medical treatment in her parents place. |
